glasgowdining.co.uk is looking for new reviewers who would be willing to write regular reviews of restaurants, initially in Glasgow but eventually covering other major cities in Scotland.

Pay

The site has no income and therefore does not make any profit. There are plans to offer services to restaurants for a small fee, but it is not expected that income will ever significantly exceed the site's running costs. On this basis, there are no plans to pay reviewers. We are confident that those interested enough to contribute free will be a bigger asset to the site than paid reviewers.

Freedom of Speech

We encourage reviewers to express their own opinions and we make it clear on the site that this is what is presented. We are not expecting food and drink experts, simply people who dine out and would like to share their opinions on this subject to guide others with (hopefully) similar tastes. We would ask reviewers though to give honest, fair appraisals of restaurants they have personally visited recently. Unnecessarily derogatory comments and colloquialisms will be removed by the editor before being published on the site.

Reviews

We would like reviewers who could send us a minimum of one review per month. We would prefer to have a small number of regular reviewers who we can get to know. The aim of the site is to give a balanced and uniform impression of reviewed restaurants.

Reviews should be written following the subject headings already used in the site. Reviewers who feel there should be changes to this are encouraged to discuss their ideas with the editor.

Contact with Restaurants

Reviewers must not be owners, managers, employees or people with any other vested interest in a restaurant.

You may not disclose to any restaurant that you are a reviewer before or during your visit there. Under no circumstances should a reviewer accept any discount or other incentive offered by a restaurant. Any enquiries from restaurants should be referred to the editor.

Contact with the Site

We would ask that you be easily contactable via e-mail. We may at times request that you review a specific restaurant but most of the time, it will be your choice where to review.

Certain information must be sent to the editor before being accepted as a reviewer. This will include

Name and age

e-mail address, postal address and telephone number

Particular likes or dislikes in types of food

This information will be kept private and will only be used in running the site.
